The British Association of Cleaning in Higher Education and Facilities Management (BACHEFM) was established in 2004 with support from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to champion excellence in soft services.
At a time when university cleaning and support teams are doing more with less, these professionals continue to deliver efficiencies and reduce costs while maintaining high standards. Their work enhances and preserves university estates, ensuring an improved experience for students, staff, and visitors. BACHEFM exists to empower these teams by providing training opportunities, fostering knowledge sharing, and creating a collaborative forum that connects Higher Education institutions across the UK.
